The book of Revelation begins with a promise: "Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear..." (Revelation 1:3). This Sunday, October 29th from 7am to 7pm Joel Nagel, the lead evangelist of the Lansing Area Church of Christ, will preach through the entire book of Revelation. Sermons will begin every hour on the hour.
Almost 14 years ago, Sandra Chapman, a disciple in the Indianapolis Church of Christ, was hired as an investigative reporter for Eyewitness News 13 in Indianapolis. She has spearheaded numerous investigations and garnered a long list of awards in the time since. Her work has had a significant impact on the state of Indiana. Recently she was honored with a Peabody Award for an investigative piece from 2016.
A few years ago, Joel Nagel produced the short devotional book Passport to the Land of Enough, a powerful call to a life of simplicity and generosity. Inspired by Joel’s insights, Dave Eastman took the core material, traveled to Europe, and produced a European edition of the book. The European edition introduces our churches to some of our European heroes and churches, calls first-world disciples to a deeper understanding of the challenges facing the European mission, and inspires growth toward that same kind of streamlined living and sacrificial giving.
A family from the Chicago Church of Christ has been enjoying the first week of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, courtesy of the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Tyler, the 17-year-old son of Darryl and Ann Heggans, was born with a heart defect that led to three open-heart surgeries during his first 18 months of life.
It is with great sadness but also with rejoicing that we share the news that our dear brother, Jim Fulcher died on May 29, 2015. Jim had courageously fought a battle with leukemia over the past ten years, never wavering in his faith and devotion to God and his people.
Hosted by the Chicago Church of Christ, what began as a conference became a giant family reunion. Adding to the incredible fellowship was powerful preaching, in-depth teaching, inspiring worship, and a deepening of our conviction to be attuned to God’s everyday call in our lives.
