Registration for the 2013 ICMC East and West Coast conferences is now open! Get excited for two incredible conferences this year, based on the theme, “Bent on Conquest.” From July 4-7, thousands of disciples will gather in sunny San Diego, California and Orlando, Florida to learn about Jesus’ example as a conqueror and how to carry out his mission on college campuses around the country.
Last Friday night started off like any other Friday night for the women of the Boston campus ministry. Rushing in from classes, work, and Bible studies, they gathered together for their weekly devotional at MIT. Unknown to these ladies, however, they were walking into a surprise “sisters’ encouragement night.” Instead of the planned worship devotional, the brothers put together a night full of roses, performances, and sharing.
There is only one Christmas album I loved growing up, it was called Merry Christmas Snoopy. I listened to it recently, and like most things we idolize as kids, the reality falls short. I remember most of the words, and the kid in me feels the nostalgia, but it would be lie to say I can sit through the whole album now.
It is November now, and over 4 months have passed since our family of churches met in the biggest meeting of disciples most of us have ever seen; The World Discipleship Summit. When we look back on the Summit, I think our biggest struggle, as campus students’ is that we can forget. We forget what it meant to have eight conferences, in four days, and over 17,800 people from 96 nations in one city.
After a drawn out political battle for office in our nation concluded last week, over 550 college students from all over New England and New York gathered to make their own spiritual “Decision 2012” in the Berkshire Mountains of western Massachusetts for an incredible time of worship, prayer, fellowship and powerful preaching of God’s Word. The real future lies in these young hearts.
Following the amazing celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the London church, God has poured out his blessings on the London Student ministry this year. There has been an influx of first year students from different parts of the UK, India, Singapore and the US--some of whom are children of the disciples that were converted in very same ministry 30 years ago.
This past weekend we enjoyed to favor of God and His fellowship as we renewed old relationships from the past & sparked new ones for the future. September 15-16, 2012 the Capital City Church of Christ held a campus ministry reunion for anyone that has been involved in the campus ministry here over the decades. We were amazed that over 30 families came from all over the country.
Bo Cummings, an alum of UMASS-Amherst and former football player on their team, was hired by the Pioneer Valley Church of Christ (near Amherst, MA) in June.
Bo is now 45 years old and not your typical campus minister. His dream always was to have as many football players to church as possible.
God answered his prayer in a different way.
